BRINGING LANGUAGES AND BUSINESS TOGETHER: NEW DIRECTIONS FOR A CRITICAL NEED
March 23-26, 2011
Charleston, South Carolina

The University of South Carolina CIBER invites you to join us in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina for an exchange of ideas and perspectives on how foreign language educators can best assess and meet the current and future linguistic and cross-cultural needs of global business leaders. This year’s theme seeks to link the needs indicated by U.S. business and the professions with the skills of language administrators, instructors, and researchers at all levels (K-12, college and university, and in-service) in the commonly taught languages as well as those languages for which the current needs are critically lacking or are currently in a developing stage.

We look forward to a well-attended conference focused on achieving the goals for which it is organized. We encourage strong participation from experienced high school, community college, and college and university administrators and instructors as well as newer instructors and graduate students who may be seeking productive areas of future contributions to the field. Charleston, South Carolina, long a center of international trade, provides a fitting location for the 2011 CIBER Conference for all to meet, greet, and “tweet” with nationally-recognized experts in this field.

More details coming soon…
