Carolina Egúsquiza is a PhD student at the University of Antwerp in Belgium. Her educational background is in Foreign Language Education, EdTech, Linguistics and Literature. Her ambition is to create opportunities for students on a global stage, by helping promote multilingualism, intercultural competence, and international exchange programs. She also hopes to help train future language teachers. She strongly believes in the benefits of technology integration to support pedagogical principles, to promote content creation among teachers and learners and to facilitate networking through social media.
She is originally from Lima, Peru and has international, educational and professional experience in Pennsylvania and in Belgium. She’s taught General Spanish, Professional Spanish and ESL in Pennsylvania and in Belgium, at secondary, higher education and adult education levels. She’s also worked for companies as a translator and as a developer of distance learning courses. Her current research involves integrating intercultural communication tasks into Business Spanish MOOC modules. She lives in the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium with her husband and two sons.
