Ellen Street is a Research Assistant with DSF Consulting, LLC. In this role, she maintains project timelines, conducts literature reviews, internet searches, and other research activities. In addition, she assists in the creation of professional development and training materials for teachers of English learners (ELs). She assists the work of DSF Consulting’s Senior Associates and consultants on technical assistance projects that support English learner achievement and teacher professional development. She has supported the creation of a pilot Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for the TESOL International Association funded by the Kellogg Foundation to assist educators in learning how to teach young ELs.
By working with selected EL experts around the country, Ellen has assessed the professional development materials and participated in gathering research to support these claims. She assists in writing and editing reports and articles. In addition, she performs office management duties and leads DSF Consulting’s social media presence. She is currently earning her M.Ed. in TESOL at the University of Missouri. Her goal is to improve English spoken by professionals for increased understanding in global exchange of ideas and research and her focus is language and culture in the workplace and professional development for the English learner. She spent two years in southern Spain to research the Andalusian dialect and was employed by the Universidad of Cadiz as an international student advisor for the ERASMUS program.
