ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) 51st Conference day – Multilingualism and using language for specific purposes – the role of assessment

Institutul Cultural Român, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 13th April 2018

ALTE (The Association of Language Testers in Europe), together with Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest, have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 51st Conference day, dedicated to assessing language for specific purposes in a multilingual context.

LSP learning and assessment have been around for more than 50 years. But as the world changes at such a fast pace, so do the stakeholders’ exigencies and requirements. How does this reflect in the historical evolution of the domain and which are the predictions and provocations for the future? What test design tools keep up with the new and unpredictable challenges? How does LSP currently materialize in the academic, employment and migration fields? These are the dimensions which will structure the 51st ALTE conference, addressing the various challenges of a multilingual global environment.
